Bedouin Song

I have wandered across many lands
trudged my way across countless sands
With nothing but my loneliness as a friend
Life seems a stranger, left alone to fend

I hope to see someone, maybe a smiling face
Among the sea of people, lost in a race
to grab a share of world, a spot under the sun
with hopes of a false tomorrow, they all run

Memories still remain, of a home I remember
A land of cotton white clouds, sunrays color of amber
Now it's memory lost, spoken softly, a muted whisper
Smiling faces and laughter unrestrained a distant blurr

I know is I have to press on, relentless in my pursuit
To the land of thousand suns, to the land of my roots
to breathe it's scented air, to swim in it's streams
to soar like an eagle, far away to the land of my dreams
